UFC 139 Fight Card: Predictions for KO, Submission, and Fight of the Night

G DNov 14, 2011

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will look to continue in their recent success when they travel to San Jose, California on November 19, 2011 for UFC 139.

The main card will be headlined around former UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua who will take on highly dangerous striker, Dan Henderson.

Also featured on the main card is heavy hitting Wanderlei Silva who will square off with UFC newcomer, Cung Le.

Urijah Faber will also meet Brian Bowles in a bantamweight showdown with the winner likely to move on for a title shot.

While the fight card promises to be an exciting one, there will be some fights more exciting than others.

So, the following slides display the predictions for Knockout, Submission and Fight of the Night at UFC 139.

Let's take a look.

Knockout of the Night: Cung Le

1 of 3

Cung Le will enter the UFC Octagon for the very first time on November 19, 2011 when he squares off with mixed martial arts legend, Wanderlei Silva.

And while Le has yet to fight at the highest stage in mixed martial arts, he has already proven himself to be one of the best knockout artists in the UFC today.

Of Le's six career victories, all have come by way of knockout.

While it may take some time for Le to become comfortable inside the Octagon, it will only be a matter of time until he starts swinging for the fences.

Silva may have one of the strongest chins in the UFC, but he's been knocked out on six different occasions throughout his career.

Submission of the Night: Miguel Torres

2 of 3

At one point in his mixed martial arts career Miguel Torres stood as arguably the best bantamweight in the world with a record of 36-1.

Despite enduring losses in three of his last five fights, Torres remains one of the best submission artists in the UFC today.

When Torres enters the Octagon on November 19, he will take on fellow bantamweight Nick Pace.

And while Pace hasn't shown he can't defend against the submission, he's yet to face an opponent with the skill set of Torres.

When action begins in San Jose, California, UFC fans across the globe shouldn't be surprised to see Torres' hand raised via Submission.

Fight of the Night: Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Dan Henderson

3 of 3

In the main event of the evening at UFC 139, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua will attempt to build off his most recent win over Forrest Griffin when he takes on Dan Henderson.

While Henderson hasn't fought in the Octagon since July of 2009, UFC fans shouldn't expect that to play any factor when these two touch gloves.

What makes this light heavyweight bout worthy of "Fight of the Night" is its unpredictability.

Those in attendance in San Jose, California could witness one of the greatest fights of the year as Rua and Henderson could engage in a total slug fest.

But fans shouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if they see this bout turn into a grueling ground-and-pound battle that finds its way to the judge's scorecards.
