2011 NFL Fantasy Football Week 11: Tight Ends (TE) Rankings / Projections

Sean E. DouglasNov 14, 2011

 Rob Gronkowski vs. Chiefs

Hopefully, you had a chance to watch the Patriots play the Jets on Sunday night, because Rob Gronkowski had one of the better games of his, thus far, great career. With 52 receptions, 709 yards and eight touchdowns, Gronkowski is one of the top tight ends in fantasy football leagues this year and will likely continue to be for some time.

When the Patriots signed Chad Ochocinco this past summer, much talk was made about Tom Brady making him the go-to option in the passing game outside of Wes Welker, but that clearly never happened. Instead, Ochocinco (playing better of late) has looked lost in New England’s offense, and Gronskowski and fellow tight end Aaron Harnandez have been some of Brady’s favorite targets.

With the Chiefs looking horrible in recent weeks, look for the Patriots to make quick work of them and Gronkowski should be good for at least 60 yards and a score.

Tony Gonzalez vs. Titans

While the old man isn’t the same player he used to be, Matt Ryan continues to look his way when he gets in trouble. Gonzalez has always been an option to target in the red zone, as he picked up another score against the Saints last week.

Maybe Gonzalez isn’t a top five tight end anymore, but if you failed to acquire one of the better tight ends on draft day, he is still a steady starter weekly. Gonzalez should have another respectable game against a Titans defense that has been up and down this year.
