Vikings vs. Packers: Struggling Packers Pass Defense Will Get Back on Track
In the Minnesota Vikings' last matchup with the Green Bay Packers, rookie quarterback Christian Ponder struggled.
At Lambeau Field, despite the Packers' letdowns on defense this season, Ponder will struggle again.
The Packers are coming off perhaps their worst defensive performance of the season against the San Diego Chargers, allowing the Chargers to rack up 38 points behind 385 passing yards and four touchdowns from quarterback Philip Rivers.

But against the Packers in Week 7, Ponder had a QB rating of 59.2, going 13-of-32 for 219 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. And that was at home.
It's also worth noting that Ponder struggled even with star running back Adrian Peterson slicing and dicing his way through the Packers' defense as if it was cheese. Peterson rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown in that game.
Peterson should once again go off on Monday night against a Packers defense allowing 4.6 yards per carry this season, but once again Ponder won't capitalize.
It's nothing against Ponder, who is still trying to make his way in the league in just his third start of his career; it's just that Ponder isn't ready yet to face such a loud atmosphere.
The Packers' defense has allowed 299.6 passing yards per game and 16 passing touchdowns this season, near the bottom of the league in both areas. But Ponder isn't ready yet, and the Packers' defense will capitalize on his inexperience and the team may finally get the defense up and running.
Good luck, rookie.
It's going to be a rough night in Green Bay.
