Why Is It Every Time There is a Coach Hired It's a Race Issue if He's Not Black?
I gotta tell you this is getting pretty old it seems that every single time any team hires a new coach and he is not black then it becomes about race.. What kills me is it is the same exact thing when we all went to vote for the President of the USA.. Instead of it being about what can the guy do it is about what color he is..
Now I am not saying that Auburn made the right hire or not that remains to be seen but the guy has the smarts when it comes to defense his record at auburn and Texas proves that point. What really burns me up is that no one is in the interview process and yet if he is not black it is a race issue.
How about this? How many Mexican coaches are there in any sport in the ncaa?? How many other races are not factored into the coaching search?? You guessed it ZERO! Well now why is that? If we are truly in a country that race is supposed to not be an issue why are the Mexicans, Chinese and any other race that is in the melting pot of America not raising their collective arms and waving the race flag??
I tell you exactly what it is the OTHER races do not count when it comes to coaching in college football... Is that a racist remark? Certainly not, how can you say it is when ESPN, ABC or FOX have never done a story on why there are no Mexican coaches in college football.
Why is it always about the black guy who did not get the job? Let's take this even further and look at some of the BLACK head coaches and their resume it should be fairly easy... Gill at Buffalo has turned Buffalo from the laughing stock of college football into a conference champ and even the coach from Houston Sumlin is doing okay but what about the two guys who just got fired?
Let's see they were a whopping what 5-19 combined? How about the white Tommy Tubberville who while being a BAMA fan I hate the guy, I cannot deny he was a good coach who knew he was not any good but got good coaches around him and let them do their job and when the pressure got tough he tossed them aside like used garbage. Why would they fire him??
So you roll the dice no matter what color his skin is and pay him a huge amount of money to make your team better and if the cards are right get into the National Championship game or at least a BCS Bowl. Why should it matter what color of skin the guy is wearing because after all it is just borrowed time anyways.
When all is said and done we will all be planted back into the earth from which we came and really will it matter if you are black or white or mexican?? Why does it matter so much then that the color of a guys skin is brought up (only if you are balck) every time there is a college football coaching change made??
I guess the only answer is that the only people who are truly racist are the ones who apply to this mindless crap. Jesse Jackson is one for sure who speaks up for the blacks everytime something does not go their skin colors way but did you here him come out and say anything about the mayor of New Orleans making a racist statement after the biggest Hurricane disaster in history?
Of course not! Why is it always OKAY to say anything racist as long as you are not white? Why should the color matter when it is a racist comment? It should not matter right?
I for one have had my fill of hearing about the black guy did not get the job because of race, you would think that electing a BLACK President would squash all of this non-sense but the fact of the matter is the only thing that drives the race issue is racist themselves.
People who would not exist if they did not bring race up at every chance i.e. Jackson.. Think about it other than bringing up race when it suites him when do you hear about him other than cheating on his wife...OOPS. He is a reverend isn't he? Could of swore one of those 10 Commandments was Adultery!
Anyways as for me I want to see the day when a college decides to hire a coach and NOT have to defend itself from finger pointing and racist remarks. Do I agree with the auburn hire? Who am I to say it was wrong? It might turn out to be the best hire in the country only time will tell. I guess if Auburn would of hired Gill they would of won the National Championship next year right? Well just ask ol Jesse he will tell you!
