Penn State Scandal: Jerry Sandusky Continues Charmed Life as Nation Fumes

If you were looking for things that make sense, you better bark up another tree or venture into some other mad house. 

What if I told you that the biggest monster in the biggest news story of the year is living a charmed life? You would be good and mad right. Would you be pissed? Well, that is my reaction to tid bits floating on the ether from the Penn State scandal. 

You see, we have given a great deal of grief to Joe Paterno. Lovable Joe Pa was ousted and rightly so. We then threw barbs at Mike McQueary and the ridiculous fact that he was still employed by Penn State. 

At some point, it became just too nauseating to look at Jerry Sandusky's face or to even mention his name. Well, for an update into the life of an alleged child molester and serial rapist, you only have to look upon a photograph taken by TMZ. 

TMZ snapped the following picture of Sandusky as he waited for a plane at LaGuardia airport in New York City. 

Sandusky is out free on a $100,000 bond and fine to pass through without much scrutiny or fanfare. The man should in no way be harassed, it is just maddening to think that the biggest villain in all of the world is chomping on some donuts without a care in the world. 

The Paterno's are hiding from all media and McQueary is on administrative leave. Yet, Sandusky roams the halls of just about anyplace he likes. 

The fact that he is still being paid by Penn State only stokes the fires of a nation already incensed by this story. 

The Patriot-News reported Sandusky is still being paid by Penn State. The figures have him receiving, "a lump-sum pension payment of $148,271 from the State Employees’ Retirement System. The rest of his pension is being paid out monthly and is $58,898 annually."

The man that single handily turned over a university with his greed and hunger for depraved and sick devices is on a plane, a tarmac or down the hall from your building. 

One of the biggest monsters in all the world is literally out free to continue his charmed life.

UPDATE: Monday, November 14th 7:30 p.m. EST

The plot either thickened or got a whole lot lighter in the evening as the photo taken by TMZ was disputed by various outlets. Deadspin ran a report alleging the man in the picture was not Jerry Sandusky. 

If true, Sandusky's crime of eating a donut in an airport can be crossed off the list. That would be the only thing we can cross off with certainty.
