Even when Gooch is injured, he's still one bad man.
Unfortunately, that fighting spirit is unlikely to be available for the United States in its international friendly against Slovenia on Tuesday.
Gooch suffered a groin injury recently. It kept him out of Friday's 1-0 loss to France, and there's no further news out of the US camp about it.
No matter. It should be a good game anyway. If you follow American soccer, you know this is a rematch of the Koman Coulibaly game (we're all still reeling from that one).
That means it's winnable. But with Jurgen Klinsmann as our manager, we're likely to see another experimental lineup. We speculated about the lineup elsewhere.
Whatever lineup Klinsi chooses, we're sure it'll be an interesting game. Even if it's not, we'll be here to live blog all the goals, action, trends—and possible fights.
The match will be televised by ESPN2 at 12:15 p.m. We'll fire up the live blog right around noon.
See you then.
