Jahvid Best Injury: Updates on Lions Star's Week 11 Status and Fantasy Value
After suffering his second concussion of the season a few weeks back, Detroit Lions dual-threat running back Jahvid Best is sorely missed by his team and fantasy owners.
The back's uncanny ability to get into open space and make people miss were on full display before he smashed his head and sent the Lions back to the losing column.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Indications are that Best is not going to be able to return to action any time soon. But for what it's worth, the Lions passed along this update on Wednesday afternoon:
Does this mean Best is on the comeback trail? In my assessment, such as it is, the answer is yes and no. Best practicing does not equal Best playing, but at least it's a step in the right direction.
Rest assured, the Lions are not going to take any chances with Best's head. One concussion is troubling enough, and this is not Best's first. The Lions need to look out not just for his season, but his career as well.
Fantasy Impact
Owners of Jahvid Best, especially in PPR leagues, should hold onto the back in case he comes back in time for the playoff push. In the meantime you can pickup Maurice Morris if you are really desperate, but there are better options on waivers in most leagues.
Who's the Backup?
Detroit has gone with Maurice Morris for most of the carries and a spattering of Kevin Smith as well. Neither is doing all that well and their lack of elite catching abilities limits the Lions offense every week Best is sidelined.
Devastation Scale (7 out of 10)
The Detroit Lions haven’t played well since Best has been out of the lineup. Perhaps more important than his talents running the ball, it was his threat of being a receiver out of the backfield that forced defenses to play honest.
What They're Saying
"The Lions tried a few different looks to make up for Jahvid Best's absence, lining up Nate Burleson and Stefan Logan at running back. Maurice Morris still got the bulk of the work with 10 carries for 44 yards, but he slipped on a would-be big gain on a screen pass, and his lack of burst was evident on a 13-yard run. Kevin Smith saw spot duty with four carries after the game was out of reach
