Coach K's One Car Accident Inspires Tar Heel Fans

There's nothing like the Duke/UNC basketball rivalry, and there is simply no reason to wait until their first meeting in February to revel in its mean-spirited glory...

Happy freakin' holidays, kids!

According to WRAL, Duke basketball coach Mike "Krzyzplm4ski" was in a one-car accident Friday driving to work.  Despite the misfortune, Coach K held practice as normal, Duke spokesman Jon Jackson said.

“He’s fine. He was at practice,” said Jackson, Duke’s Associate Athletic Director of Communications.

Jackson said the accident “was nothing serious” and "Krzfghbv9ski" was not injured. Durham police did not have a record of the accident the following day.

Do we need to tell you that this set off a flurry of comments down the road in Chapel Hill? On an InsideCarolina.com forum, somebody posted the story, and the comments that followed were, well, funny no matter who you "pull for" (as we say in the South).

Here is a sampling of some of the better ones:

• Yelling at Singler and Paula to stop fooling around with their car seats in the back.
• After K argued with the policeman on site, the guardrail was called for the charge.
• Gerald Henderson is the real victim here.
• And, of course, it is important to remember that Henderthug, not Coach K., or the car, is the real victim here.
• A tree jumped in front of him to take the charge?
• He's got a DVD and TV in his car. He was only trying to put Ratatouille in so Zoubek could watch it.
• Yelling at Singler and Paula to stop fooling around with their car seats in the back.
• He was attempting to run over Pete Gaudet.
• I don't know what he was doing, but it sounds like a good excuse for a back injury appearing in the near future.
• What was he doing when he wrecked?? Slapping the floorboard?
• K will hold a press conference to let everyone know he...and, as a result, college basketball are alright.
• K's defense was that he had position and the light post clearly charged.
• He was pretending to be Joe Aleva.
• His car must have flopped.

Oddly, "Krzydhgnb7ski" had no comment.
