Tim Tebow's Leadership Enough To Make Broncos Winner in Woeful AFC West

Kyle VassaloNov 13, 2011

Tim Tebow is never going to be Aaron Rodgers, but he doesn't have to be in order to will the Broncos to a division championship this season.

Nobody wants to win the AFC West. Every time it seems like someone is going to run away with the division, they completely drop the ball and implode.

The Chargers lost to the Raiders on Thursday night this week, The Broncos took down the Raiders last week and the Chiefs are coming off a loss to the previously winless Dolphins just one week after beating the Chargers on Monday night.

The Broncos are two games back in the AFC West, but Tebow's leadership gives them exactly what they need to win the division.

His throwing motion remains a huge concern, and John Elway will almost certainly jump at the chance to replace him after the season is over, but for now his poise and fire are resulting in wins.

Going into Week 10, Tebow's throwing percentage was under 50 percent, but he'd thrown six touchdowns vs. one interception and had 277 rushing yards and a touchdown to boot.

He adds a dimension to the offense that Kyle Orton can't bring, and though he's a downright liability at times with his accuracy, he's got Denver believing once again.

The Broncos are up 10-0 on the Chiefs at halftime, and fittingly Tebow has a rushing touchdown and zero completions. Tebow's intangibles make up for what his arm is lacking. That's why he was drafted in the first round and why the Tebow craze will only grow stronger when he takes his team to the playoffs this season.

It's not going to take 10 wins to win the AFC West this season. With their three division rivals in disarray, the Broncos will steal the division behind their fiery leader.
