David Nelson, Kelsi Reich Video: Watch WR Celebrate with Cowboys Cheerleader
David Nelson had a little extra motivation to find the end zone today.
He had a special someone he wanted to impress, and did after Ryan Fitzpatrick found him for a three-yard strike midway through the second quarter.
His longtime girlfriend, Kelsi Reich, is a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader who shouldn’t be happy that her employer just gave up six points to an opposing wide receiver.

But the circumstances are quite special here, and Nelson decided to sprint down the sideline and present his gal with the touchdown ball.
She was obviously elated and the two embraced on the sideline before Nelson had to return to his bench and get ready for his next series.
There was rampant speculation all week that Nelson might “pull an Ian Johnson” and propose to his girlfriend on the field if he scored.
Nelson himself said that he had something special planned.
“I want to do something that hasn’t been done before, but the situation has to be right," he said. "I’m not a big celebration guy when I score, but this is a special situation and if something happens I’ll be looking to enjoy the situation.”
Nelson definitely kept it subdued during his celebration and his actions were nothing but classy and respectable.
He didn’t showboat and he didn’t make anything uncomfortable or awkward for the legions of fans watching him after the score.
He also didn’t feel the need to propose in front of a stadium full of mostly strangers during a football game.
That’s just respectable and presenting his cheerleader girlfriend with the game ball is definitely something that I imagine hasn’t been done in the league before.
It was just a nice moment for everyone involved.
Stay classy, David Nelson.
