Player B has 35 percent of his team's total offense on 51 percent of the total touches. He is not only the team leader in rushing, but also leads his team in receptions.

Player A's team is currently 7-7 and in last place in their division.

Player B's team is currently 8-6 and fighting for a playoff spot in second place in their division.

Player A has had his effort questioned by his coach.

Player B's teammates have praised his work ethic and durability.

Player A is Clinton Portis of the Washington Redskins.

Player B is Matt Forte, rookie, of the Chicago Bears.

Though the Bears offense has not turned any heads this year, and they have allowed an inconsistent (and cheating) Minnesota team pass them in their division, there is no question that Forte has been the man in Chicago.

Forte has moved past legends in most of his past four games in the Bears' future media guides. He is now ahead of Da Coach, Mike Ditka, as the all-time rookie receptions leader in franchise history.

He had already passed Gale Sayers as the leader in total offense by a rookie for the winningest team in NFL history.

He is also just one of two Bears players ever to record 1,000 rushing yards and 50 receptions in the same season—Neal Anderson and Walter Payton were the others.

Based on his offensive numbers—more touches, touchdowns, receptions, fewer lost fumbles—Forte deserves to be at the Pro Bowl more than Portis. When adding his value to a team more in the playoff hunt than Portis' Redskins, his value should overwhelmingly surpass that of the veteran Portis.
