Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: Close Win over Marquez Sets Up Pac-Man for Money Fight

Josh SchochNov 13, 2011

Manny Pacquiao's close win over Juan Manuel Marquez sets up a super-fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Boxing fans have wanted to see this fight for months, all starting with the two planning the fight in Dallas before it fell apart due to an inability to agree on anti-doping tests.  Now we are set up to see this fight as it should have been, all because of the Pacquiao vs. Marquez fight.

Mayweather was afraid of Pac-Man in the first fight, or so it seemed.  He knew that Pacquiao would not agree to blood testing, and despite doing urine testing for most fights, Mayweather had to have blood testing for this one.  This disagreement led to the end of the fight.

Now Mayweather has seen Pac-Man at his worst, and that will make Floyd want to fight him now.

Pacquiao was atrocious last night and needed a last round comeback to win the fight.  He came out slowly and nearly lost the fight because of it.

If Marquez had better stamina he would have won, and Mayweather knows that he could have done so.

Mayweather would have been able to punish Pac-Man for the way he fought last night and he will certainly be interested in fighting him now to prove that he is the best in the world.

"Money May" will probably try to fight Pacquiao as soon as possible to take advantage of his rusty state.

Unfortunately for him, Pac-Man will be ready for the fight.  He won't let rust hold him back in a mega-fight against Mayweather.  This would be the fight of the century and he would train harder than ever to make sure that he could defend his title and hand Mayweather his first loss.

This mega-fight is going to happen now and the world will be watching as these two amazing fighters throw down in Dallas.  Better getcha' popcorn ready.
