Manny Pacquiao: Floyd Mayweather Must Capitalize and Fight Vulnerable Pac-Man

Alex KayNov 13, 2011

We all know Floyd Mayweather needs to fight Manny Pacquiao, and if the Pretty Boy wants to win, he had better do it sooner than later.

Last night, Pacquiao appeared more beatable than we have seen the 32-year-old Filipino look in an extremely long time.

In what could have easily been a decision in Juan Manuel Marquez’s favor or a draw between the two fighters, Pacquiao was given the small edge in a split decision after 12 rounds at the MGM Grand arena.

Marquez, an opponent that Mayweather already destroyed, is making a compelling argument that the judges are against him and that he should have beat Pacquiao for the second time.

"It's hard when you're fighting your rival and the three judges, too," Marquez said.

Those judges scored the bout at 115-113, a draw, and 116-112, 115-113 in favor of Pac-Man. The AP scored it a 114-114 draw.

Pacquiao also showed his new style isn’t nearly as effective as he hyped it up to be. Marquez proved what most of us already knew, fighting backwards and counter-punching will help keep it close but won’t win you any judge’s points.

Now that Money Mayweather has a blueprint laid in front of him on how to fight Pacquiao and what not to do in order to win a split decision, he’d be stupid not to fight Pac-Man.

According to Oscar De La Hoya, Pacquiao has already agreed to the ridiculous drug testing methods Floyd wants and Mayweather has May 5, 2012 booked up at the MGM arena.

Everything is in line for those two to brawl on that date.

Will they?

I hope so, as both their legacies on the line.

Luckily for Pacquiao, his isn’t tarnished from losing a split decision to Juan Manuel Marquez.
