Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: Pac-Man Loss Would Kill Chance of Super Fight

Michael MillNov 12, 2011

The sporting universe has voiced its opinion.

They want to see Manny Pacquiao step into the ring with Floyd Mayweather to finally answer the question which boxer is the best in the world.

For months, even years now, we have all waited to see these two great fighters settle the dispute.

It now appears that the fight could be just around the corner. There are rumors that Mayweather is prepared to fight Pacquiao on May 5th of next year.

Those, however, are just rumors. Right now it's unclear if and when the fight will ever happen.

One thing is for sure: if Pac-Man falls short of victory tonight against Juan Manuel Marquez, this super fight will never happen.

Floyd Mayweather has made excuses to avoid this fight for as long as we can remember. If Pacquiao loses tonight, that will be the final and only excuse he will need.

Mayweather is 42-0 in his career, which includes a unanimous win against Marquez in September of 2009.

Pacquiao has always struggled against Marquez over the course of his career. The two have faced off twice before. One fight ended in a draw and the other in a split decision victory for Pac-Man.

The possibility for an upset is very real.

If it happens, I wouldn't be surprised if Mayweather walked away from boxing all together.

He will claim that he has nothing left to prove. He has beaten everybody that has stood in his way. He doesn't need a win against Pacquiao. Pac-Man couldn't even beat Marquez, right?

Sounds like something Mayweather would say to me.

This future super fight is on the line tonight.
