Pacquiao vs Marquez III: Pac-Man Will Still Fight Mayweather Even with a Loss
After all the potential that has surrounded a Manny Pacquiao/Floyd Mayweather fight, there is no way that if Pacquiao were to lose tonight, that match would no longer potentially happen. Actually, there would be a better chance of it happening, as the Pac-Man would be looking to redeem himself following a loss.
The odds are in Pacquiao's corner, and many still favorite him to win. When one considers their previous two matches, it would be unfair to total eliminate Juan Marquez. Pacquiao knows what is on the line with this match, and many believe that if he wins it will finally result in the dream matchup that has been and off for years.
Even with a loss, it is hard to imagine this fight still not happening. Mayweather could make the excuse that Pacquiao isn't worth his time, but all critics would then bash him for avoiding a fight a boxer who just recently lost. Mayweather doesn't seem to care too much about his image, but if he is unwilling to fight a boxer who just lost, perhaps he isn't as great as he thinks.
There is no doubt that the potential matchup of Pacquiao and Mayweather would be one of the biggest fights in boxing history, and the purse would likely be the largest ever. This fight is going to happen, whether Pacquiao wins or loses tonight against Marquez.
The ball is really in Mayweather's court, as he is going to have to eventually step into the ring with Pacquiao. Otherwise, he will continue to just be all talk and Pacquiao would come off as the more confident boxer if he still wants to fight Mayweather following a loss.
It will be interesting to see how things break down tonight, and more so the future that can come of the tonight's final results. No matter what, it is going to get interesting.
