Penn State Scandal: Watch PSU President Promise To Rebuild Trust

The healing has to happen and in this video from Penn State President Dr. Rodney A. Erickson to the Penn State community and the world, “We will rebuild the trust, honor and pride that endured generations.” 

As you can see in the video above, that was posted from Penn State on Youtube, the university is looking to remove itself from everything that was the Jerry Sandusky scandal. The video is a bold statement that did not have to be very long. 

As a quick 30-second statement from the president of the university was a perfect way to let everyone know that Penn State is going to move forward. 

The old administration did the unthinkable, by protecting Sandusky, as per the grand jury report. There had to be a complete makeover of the Penn State administration.

This video from the new president is the university's first shot at what will be many public relations moves to lend their support to those victims. 

The healing process is going to take a long time. What may or may not have happened which was reported in that grand jury testimony will not be fixed with a simple statement or video. 

But, that video from Dr. Erickson is the right step forward in building that trust back. 

The old saying is, “time heals all wounds.” Well, this is a deep wound that Penn State University is going to take a long time to heal from. The message is that this will never happen again. 

Let’s hope that we never have to see Dr. Erickson release another video like this again.
