Penn State Scandal Video: Watch Fan-Made Movie Trailer of Shameful Events
The recent scandals at Penn State University are just wild enough to warrant a big-time movie script, but the horror on the PSU campus is all too real.
This trailer is not.
The trailer is a play off the new J. Edgar Hoover movie directed by Clint Eastwood, and it depicts Joe Paterno in a similar light as Hoover is portrayed in the film.
While the idea seems very farfetched, the dubbed voice of Leonardo DiCaprio speaking as J. Edgar Hoover is eerily similar to the injustices that Paterno was witness to.
Most people would have never drawn the comparison but the trailer is so flawlessly done that it actually feels like this could be the beginning of a movie.
All of this stems from Joe Paterno’s lack of response to a graduate assistant that reported seeing former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky raping a child in the showers of the PSU campus.
Paterno did everything by the books and is in no trouble with the law, but that does not mean he couldn’t have down more to protect the welfare of the children that Sandusky was hurting.
Many students felt that Paterno got the raw end of the deal, but he did not live up to the code of ethics that he has been so pertinent in preaching to his students.
The line that gets me was “Even great men can be corrupted,” and it rings no truer than to Paterno’s stance in this whole matter.
This whole situation is touchy for everyone involved, but people need to remember the truest victims in all of this; the kids Sandusky allegedly ruined.
