Fantasy Football Week 10: Ben Tate, Roy Helu and More Waiver Wire RB Pickups

Nicholas GossNov 12, 2011

Houston Texans running back Ben Tate and Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu are two good players you should pick up off of your fantasy football league's waiver wire for Week 10 of the NFL season.

Chris Ogbonnaya of the Cleveland Browns and Jacquizz Rodgers of the Atlanta Falcons are also good running back pickups this week.

Let's look at three running backs you must pick up off the waiver wire to ensure you have enough depth this week.

1. Kendall Hunter

With San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore frequently injured, his backup Kendall Hunter is a good pickup this week.

Hunter has received at least eight carries in four of the last five games, and he has averaged an impressive 4.5 yards per carry this season.

Hunter has also been a factor in the 49ers passing game, and is a capable pass-catcher. Grab Hunter off your league's waiver wire if you need a bye week replacement or a fill in for an injured star.

2. Ben Tate

Even with Houston Texans all-pro running back Arian Foster having another great season, his backup Ben Tate has played extremely well too.

Tate had 115 rushing yards and a touchdown last week against the Cleveland Browns, and two weeks prior he had 104 yards rushing against the Tennessee Titans.

Tate is excelling even when Foster has a big day, and his 5.7 yards per carry average makes him a must-start every week.

He will also help fantasy owners who play in PPR leagues.

3. Roy Helu

Washington Redskins running back Roy Helu has 41 rushing yards last week but he had 14 receptions for 104 yards too.

Helu's ability to be a major factor in the passing game make him a must-start for the next few weeks, especially for fantasy owners in PPR leagues.

His 4.6 yards per carry and 7.6 yards per catch are impressive numbers for someone who did not see a ton of action prior to Tim Hightower's season-ending knee injury.

If Helu is on your league's waiver wire pick him up right now and start him at a running back or a flex spot on your team's roster.
