Time for the New York Giants to Start Panicking?

NFLGridironGabDec 15, 2008

The Giants lose two in a row (gasp!) and the football world is ready to anoint them as busts. While that might sound ridiculous, it does hold a pertinent question: Should the Giants panic? The answer, quite simply, quite emphatically, is no.

Sure, the Giants lost two in a row. Plax isn’t there. Eli seems to be in that late season funk of his. Running game has slowed down. But time for panic? Time to go home early, and not even be competitive in the playoffs? Please. The Giants may not win the Super Bowl, but two losses do not a season make. It’s like saying Tiger Woods has lost his touch after missing two birdies.

If Jacobs is back healthy and effective, the G-Men have no cause for concern. The defense looked good last night, save for stopping Tashard Choice, and their offensive line will be healthy in time for round one of the playoffs.

The critics can say what they want, but when it all boils down, the Giants are still the best team in the league, and still my favorite to win the Super Bowl. Concern? Yes. Panic? No. We are talking about the Super Bowl Champs here.
