Penn State Video: Watch Nittany Lions Emerge from Team Bus Without Joe Paterno
After one of the worst weeks in the history of Penn State University, the talk will concentrate on football for the time being.
It is just a temporary relief from the controversy, but the people who love PSU just want to focus on football at the moment.
Don’t believe me?
Just look at the number of people lining the streets and gathering in huge crowds by where the Penn State football team parks their buses and prepares to enter Beaver Stadium.
There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of people lined up to support the student athletes that lost their iconic coach and have been thrown into a situation they didn’t ask for.
The overwhelming support isn’t just for the football players either.
All of the supporters that the fans, family and friends that showed up for this impromptu rally are also there for themselves.
When you choose a college, you are forming an alliance that for the most part lasts the entirety of your life. When a tragedy like this happens, it’s the kind of situation that can test a person’s loyalty and commitment.
This showing was a way to say to the players that the student body supports them and that the students support each other.
In times of crisis, the support of your peers can be enough to ease the pain and allow you to continue on with your life.
Football is just a game, but it allows fans to be relieved of their stresses, if only for a time.
