Pacquiao vs. Mayweather: Pac-Man Must Knock out Marquez to Fight Mayweather

When Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez meet there will be only one thing on people's minds: will Pac-Man fight Floyd Mayweather next?

OK, maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but there's no doubting that people are thinking that, myself included.

Ever since Pacquiao and Mayweather started talking about their mega-fight in Dallas, the world has been waiting, but the inability to agree on pre-fight anti-doping tests led to the end of the fight.

Now that Pacquiao is fighting his arch-rival Marquez for the third time, the talk has started once again.  Pac-Man has not been able to decisively defeat Marquez, with the first fight being a draw and the second a close win. Both times Marquez felt that he had won, and there is still controversy about the fights.

If Pacquiao shows that he has improved enough to knock out Marquez, that will tell us that he is ready for Floyd. There have been some questions about whether he is truly ready or not because of his distractions outside of the ring and because he is aging, but Pac-Man will silence the critics.

Mayweather and Marquez have already fought, with Mayweather winning in unanimous decision. If Pac-Man does the same, then the boxing world will cry for the mega-fight, and the pressure will be on both fighters to give us what we want.

First off, Pacquiao is going to knock out Marquez. Marquez is at the heaviest he has ever been for a fight, and we know that he does not do well when he weighs more.

The heaviest Marquez has been for a fight is roughly 140 pounds against Mayweather, and we saw that he got knocked around in that one. For this fight against Pac-Man, he is roughly five pounds heavier after gaining 10 to 15 pounds in a very short amount of time. This will lead to a slower Marquez, leaving him open for Pacquiao's punishment.

Pacquiao will surely floor Marquez, setting up the mega-fight once more. Even people who aren't fans of boxing would want to see this as it would be the fight of the century. With so many people egging them on, the two fighters will agree to certain terms, and we will finally see the fight we want.
