Penn State Scandal: Bomb Threat Continues Ripple Effect

Adam WellsNov 12, 2011

The Penn State scandal has rocked the foundation of the university, cost two people their jobs and keeps getting worse by the day. The latest incident came on Saturday when a bomb threat was called in at Beaver Stadium.

According to Darren Rovell's twitter, there was nothing found after a search of the stadium.

The website Penn State Live posted a message alerting fans about the threat and that an investigation into who made the threat is still ongoing.

Penn State received an anonymous bomb threat Friday night (Nov. 11) for Beaver Stadium. Police and FBI are investigating. Police, who have had the stadium secured since Tuesday, used bomb-sniffing dogs as well as additional personnel to check the stadium and nothing was found. They searched the area again this morning, and again found nothing.

While I understand the frustration and anger that people have over the allegations levied against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, the idea that someone would do something like this is beyond me.

The people who attend Penn State and just want to watch a football game do not deserve what is happening to them. There are people at fault in this whole mess, but to threaten the lives of over 100,000 people is disgusting.

The unfortunate part of this whole thing is that it is probably just the beginning. While there may not be bomb threats every day, there are going to be threats of violence all over Happy Valley for a long time to come.

The Penn State program is falling apart at the seams, and thanks to some idiot(s) who think that violence is the answer, things will get worse before they get better.
