Stephen Curry Carolina Panthers Video: Watch Curry Toss the Rock with Cam Newton
We've talked a lot about what NBA players do during a lockout.
Some things have surprised us and some have not.
Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors hanging out with Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers is a bit surprising.
But only until we think about it for a minute.
Curry not only played high school ball in North Carolina, but he also played college ball at Davidson.
Davidson happens to be in North Carolina as well.
Now, with nothing to do but train and hope for the best, the Warriors guard decided to chuck the rock with Cam Newton, Derek Anderson and Greg Olsen at Panthers practice.
The object of their game was to hit the goal post with the football.
Naturally, Derek Anderson misfired and left the ball a bit long on his toss.
Curry, though, let it rip and hit the goal post from about 20 yards out.
According to his Twitter account he actually hit it twice:
"Tossing passes w/the QBs. Hit goalpost twice -- put me in coach. Thanks to@Panthers & @StevenJustonD for having me in. http://say.ly/DTOYTx
"
The Panthers will play host to division rival Tennessee this weekend.
Carolina certainly isn't in need of another quarterback, but at least they know have an in with Curry should the NBA lockout continue.
Curry, only 23 years old and 6'3", would bring a ton of upside to the football field.
But in all seriousness, it would be a lot cooler if Curry were allowed on the basketball court right now.
As fun as it is to see Curry drilling goal posts, it would be more fun watching him drain three-pointers in defenders' faces.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like NBA players are getting back on the court any time soon.
