TNA: 10 Wrestlers to Challenge for Bobby Roode's Title
You have to figure that Bobby Roode will remain the TNA World Champion until James Storm returns from injury.
While AJ Styles has requested the opportunity to beat the hell out of Roode for "turning" on his best friend and leaving Fortune, it leaves the door open for Styles to compete for the title.
But who else will get a title shot or rather, who "should" get a title shot.
Things are changing in TNA. And with rumors and speculation, any number of things can happen. But what if everything goes according to plan (I know, this is wrestling) and Roode stays champion for the next six weeks?
These guys need to step up and make a name for themselves by challenging the new heavyweight champion.
Kazarian
1 of 10This won't happen, but Kazarian should be included in the mix for a title run.
We always see him as a challenger for the Television Title or the X-Division strap.
Why can't we see him get a major push for the top strap in the company?
RVD
2 of 10The educated feet of RVD challenging Roode. Should be a good one.
RVD has held world gold before and his popularity would warrant a good showing against the stronger champion in Roode.
This can happen, but there will be others to get a shot before him.
Samoa Joe
3 of 10The two just faced each other two weeks ago. Roode won the match and the chance to face James Storm for the title.
I don't think Joe cares that Roode turned heel. I just think he wants to be a champion.
No matter who holds the title.
The Pope
4 of 10This won't happen, either.
The Pope (I say this time and time again) is the best athlete in this company and is being used like a step child.
He could be a champion five times over if this were WCW or the NWA from years past.
Creative needs to use him better.
Crimson or Matt Morgan
5 of 10We can't have both of them challenging Roode. One will turn heel.
I have a scenario for you...
What if Crimson turns heel while feuding with Morgan?
James Storm beats Roode for the title when he comes back.
Crimson then beats Storm to become world champion?
It could happen.
Mr. Anderson
6 of 10Ken Anderson went from world champion, to member of Immortal, to mid-carder in a matter of weeks.
He is too talented to remain there.
Anderson is a tough SOB that would be great in competition with Roode.
They both are about the same size and are strong enough to beat the hell out of each other.
AJ Styles
7 of 10TNA needs for Styles to remain relevant on Impact.
Styles is too popular and too great of a competitor to be anything but a headliner.
Right now is his chance to do that again.
Jeff Hardy
8 of 10I have to figure he gets into the title picture and has a pretty good run with Roode.
Hardy did not come back to be reinstated and be a mid-level player.
He is someone who needs to be in the title picture or his return means nothing.
James Storm
9 of 10"IF" Bobby Roode has the title in six weeks when James Storm returns, this is the match everyone wants to see.
These two men know each other so well and it will be awesome to see them beat the hell out of each other.
Sorry about Bobby's damn luck.
John Morrison
10 of 10Here is something I have been kicking around.
If the rumors that have been spreading about Morrison leaving the WWE are true and he jumps ship to TNA, would he be considered immediately for the TNA Title?
The company gave a huge push to Gail Kim, and former WWE stars like Mr. Anderson, Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy have won TNA gold.
It seems logical "if" it were to happen.
