Week 10 Start Em Sit Em: Why You Would Be Crazy to Sit Struggling Jimmy Graham

Kyle VassaloNov 11, 2011

If you put Saints tight end Jimmy Graham on the bench this week, you're going to be kicking yourself come Sunday when he makes you look foolish by going off on your bench.

Graham exploded for four consecutive 100-yard games earlier in the season that have forced owners to have unrealistic expectations for the rising superstar.

Graham has failed to produce over 100 yards in three consecutive games and fantasy owners are starting to grow anxious.

Don't freak out and sit him. Graham may not be keeping up the ridiculous pace he set for himself, but Graham's 791 yards lead all tight ends and his five receiving touchdowns aren't too shabby either.

He takes on the Falcons, who put forth a middle of the road pass defense that allows just over 245 YPG through the air. The Falcons and Saints are going to get into an offensive shootout and the Saints' passing offense will set the tone.

Saints weapons often present a feast or famine scenario for fantasy owners. There are days when defenses will completely take away Darren Sproles, Marques Colston or Jimmy Graham.

Brees is elite at taking what defenses give him and the Falcons don't have anyone who matches up well against Graham.

With Mark Ingram and Chris Ivory banged up, the Saints will look to dial up the heat on the Falcons' defense and that means big things for Graham. It's way too premature to write him off as yesterday's news and you don't want to have Graham on your bench when he finds a way to turn it back on.
