Bills vs. Cowboys: DeMarco Murray and Cowboys Who Will Give Buffalo Fits

Chris CortesNov 11, 2011

This week, we get a blast from the past as the Dallas Cowboys take on the Buffalo Bills. These two teams faced each other in two Super Bowls in the 90s, and both are currently gunning for the playoffs.

This will be a huge game for both teams, as they both are in very tight divisions.

DeMarco Murray and these Cowboys will be key in leading the Cowboys to victory over the Bills.

DeMarco Murray

1 of 5

It seems as if the Cowboys have finally found the answer for their running game. DeMarco Murray has had huge games the past three weeks against St. Louis, Philadelphia and Seattle

The only issue with Murray is the amount of touches he gets (he only had seven carries in the Philadelphia game but still went for 74 yards). The Cowboys need to get Murray the ball as much as possible, as he has proven he can produce when he gets carries (253 yards on 25 carries against St. Louis, 139 yards on 22 carries against Seattle).

If they can get the running game going, it can open things up in the passing game.

Laurent Robinson

The Cowboys will be without Miles Austin once again this week, and Laurent Robinson will get the start in his place.

While Robinson has not consistently put up big numbers, he has had two very big games this season (103 yards vs. Philadelphia, 122 yards vs. Detroit).

Robinson will have to play big this week against a good Buffalo defense to give Tony Romo another option in the passing game.

Sean Lee

Right now, Sean Lee is probably to play on Sunday.

Lee has missed the past few weeks to injury, and he has had an outstanding season.

The Cowboys will need Lee to be on his A-game as they will be facing Buffalo running back Fred Jackson, who has over 800 yards this season.

Jackson is having a breakout season this year for Buffalo and can break the game open at any moment.

If Lee is healthy, he can help Dallas stop Jackson.

DeMarcus Ware

4 of 5

In Buffalo’s matchup against the Jets last week, the Jets were able to beat Buffalo by getting pressure on Ryan Fitzpatrick.

While they didn’t sack him, they knocked him down five times.

DeMarcus Ware has the potential to get Michael Strahan’s single season sack record (he currently has 12). If he can continue to provide pressure this week to Fitzpatrick, he can force some turnovers and lead the Cowboys to a victory.

Tony Romo

5 of 5

Whether this is fair or not, as long as Tony Romo is around, all eyes will be on him. At the moment, the Cowboys need to get hot and string some victories to make the playoffs.

Romo has struggled in big spots in the past, and he will have to be smart with the ball if the Cowboys are going to make the playoffs.

He has the weapons in Witten, Bryant, Murray and Austin (when healthy), and it is up to Romo to make it happen.
