College Football Recruiting 2012: The Top Possible Package Deals

Edwin WeathersbyNov 11, 2011

The package deal is always a rumored plot in recruiting. Prospects at the same school or from the same area that know each other get giddy over the idea of playing together in college, and go forth with trying to make it happen.

For this read, I'm going to give you who I feel are the top possible package deals. Whether the players end up at the same school or not remains to be seen, but it's not a foregone conclusion that they won't.

Let's get started.

Stefon Diggs, Ryan Watson and Wes Brown

1 of 4

Our Lady of Good Counsel High School is home to three of the best 200 players in the entire country. Stefon Diggs is among the very most exciting and dangerous prospects in the country at WR.

Wes Brown is one the elite RB prospects in this year's class, and Ryan Watson is a very, very solid OL prospect. They all have a bevy of offers, and could decide to stick with the trio in college.

Darius Hamilton, Yuri Wright and Elijah Shumate

2 of 4

Don Bosco Prep can boast more than Our Lady Good Counsel, as they have four of the top 110 players in the country. WR Leonte Carroo is committed to Rutgers.

That leaves DE Darius Hamilton, CB Yuri Wright and SS/LB Elijah Shumate.

Rutgers is trying like all get out to land all three, and actually lead for Hamilton. Shumate likes the idea of playing in Piscataway, but it's going to take some convincing on Wright's part.

Josh Garnett and Zach Banner

3 of 4

The two big OL have become good friends through the recruiting process, and are both from Washington. They haven't said anything about a package deal, but they like some of the same schools.

Oklahoma, Washington, Notre Dame, Michigan, Oregon and USC are just the tip of the iceberg. I'm not sure they will end up at the same school, but with so many schools of interest in common, it's possible.

Dwayne Stanford and Adolphus Washington

4 of 4

Dwayne Stanford and Adolphus Washington are 98 percent sure they are a package deal.

They were scheduled to announce their decisions together this week, but it has been postponed, since Stanford will travel to Oregon on November 19th.

Washington has Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan State and Cincinnati as his top four. Stanford likes Cincinnati, Ohio State and Oregon.

The Buckeyes could get a two-for-one commitment this month.
