Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3: Last-Minute Odds and Predictions
Manny Pacquiao will fight Juan Manuel Marquez for the third, and likely final, time on Saturday night, and everyone has a different opinion on how the fight will end.
These two had some intense battles the first two times they fought, which is why people are very excited for Saturday.
Granted, this is no Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight, but it will suffice.
The first match between these two ended in a controversial draw, where both boxers felt they had won. The second fight was awarded to Pacquiao in a split decision.
Marquez may be 38, but he is still highly motivated to finally get a marquee victory on his résumé, whereas Pacquiao wants to put an end to this rivalry.
With that said, let's take a look at some of the odds and my predictions for Saturday's big fight.
But before we get to that, check out this awesome trailer sure to get you pumped for Pacquiao vs. Marquez 3.
Who Will Win?
Pacquiao is heavily favored to win on Saturday, and I foresee no upset happening. PacMan has the speed and power to take care of business, and fatigue will come into play for the aging Marquez.
There is also a size advantage for Pacquiao, as this is a welterweight fight, meaning he'll be able to handle the weight better than Marquez.
The last time Marquez fought at welterweight was against Pretty Boy Floyd, where he didn't stand a chance.
How Long Will the Fight Last?
According to bodog.eu, the odds are set at 10.5 rounds, so should you take the over or the under? Both times these two have fought it went the distance, so going the over is the safe bet.
However, I have this fight lasting eight rounds because PacMan will be too much for the older Marquez to handle. He will put up a good fight, but the third time will not be his charm.
How Will He Win?
You can wager on either boxer and how they will win, whether by knockout, technical knockout, disqualification, decision or a draw.
I'm predicting a knockout by Pacquiao in the eighth round. Yes, he hasn't had a knockout victory since 2009, but he makes a statement victory over Marquez on Saturday with a powerful punch that puts him out.
How Many Total Knockdowns?
The over/under is currently set at 1.5, and I like the over here. Marquez will hit the mat in the middle rounds, but the fight won't be over just yet. Pacquiao knows what it takes to bring Marquez down, and he will put him on the mat more than one time.
Just for Fun
Who lands the first punch, Pacquiao or Marquez?
Which boxer bleeds first, Pacquiao, Marquez or neither?
Who throws the most punches, Pacquiao or Marquez?
Who connects on the most punches, Pacquiao or Marquez?
I'll take Pacquiao on all of these. While I have Pacquiao winning in the eighth round, I do believe this will be a good fight. Both boxers will land some crushing blows, but in the end, PacMan is just too good, and he will not be denied a victory on Sunday night.
