NFL Picks Week 10: Buffalo Bills and Skidding Teams Who'll Lose Must-Win Games

Kyle VassaloNov 12, 2011

The Buffalo Bills started off the season white hot, but Week 10 will add another loss to their already painful skid. Once thought to be a serious contender to win the AFC East, the Bills have dropped three of their last five.

While they are in a three-way tie at the top of the division with a 5-3 record, another Bills' loss will leave them even further dejected.

These aren't the same old Bills, but with their offense being held to just 11 points in their last outing against the Jets, they can't hope to take out the Cowboys this week.

They aren't the only team who will come up on the wrong end in games they can't afford to lose. Here are three teams who will drop must-win games.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs are 4-4 and can't afford to lose more ground to the Saints and Falcons. Unfortunately, they've lost three of their last four and are taking on a Texans team who has a distinct advantage on both sides of the ball.

Wade Phillips and the Texans may not have Mario Williams, but they are putting forth the best defense in the league. Josh Freeman and the Bucs have only scored 25 or more once this season. Given that the Texans are going up against the fourth-worst defense in the league, it's safe to say the Texans are going to present too much firepower for the Bucs to keep up with.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills have only won one game in which they failed to produce more than 30 points. They win when their explosive offense is hitting on all cylinders and are anything but invincible when their offense fails to put up monster numbers.

This week, they're taking on a Cowboys team that has a top-10 run defense that gives up just over 100 rushing YPG. Even if Ryan Fitzpatrick is able to launch an aerial assault successfully, Tony Romo and the Cowboys produce over 400 YPG and will be able to match the Bills blow for blow.

It's hard to say a team who is 6-2 is in a must-win situation, but in the NFC East, allowing the rest of the division to close the gap blows the division wide open.

The Giants don't have Ahmad Bradshaw this week and Hakeem Nicks is banged up. The Giants took down the Patriots last week, but they don't get the luxury of going up against the worst defense in the league this week.

The 49ers are on a tear, having won six in a row. Frank Gore has at least 100 yards in five consecutive games and their No. 1 ranked run defense is going to play lights-out against Brandon Jacobs.
