Why hasn’t receivers coach Mike McQueary been fired yet?

The school has decided to keep him off the sidelines for Saturday’s game against Nebraska because of threats according to a statement from the school:

Due to multiple threats made against Assistant Coach Mike McQueary, the University has decided it would be in the best interest of all for Assistant Coach McQueary not to be in attendance at Saturday's Nebraska game.

"

This guy is fearful for his life right now…you think he can give helpful advice on how to catch a football?

The scandal that has shaken the whole country is not going away any time soon. This situation is unprecedented and it goes way beyond sports.

Penn State officials and their special committee understand this, which is why they have been getting rid of everybody—iconic head coach, athletic director, vice president and president of Penn State University.

All of the top ranked people involved in this chaos have been given a pink slip, yet the lowly receivers coach gets a pass?

McQueary is, according to the grand jury report, the guy who could have stopped a young boy from getting raped on the scene—something you can’t say about anybody else who was fired. He one of the guys who allowed Jerry Sandusky to be around kids for years after the incident he allegedly witnessed.

The players are standing behind their embattled coach, but that means absolutely nothing in this case because it’s more than just football. McQueary may be the best receivers coach in the country, but that shouldn’t even be considered when making this decision.

Penn State needs to clean house on everyone involved in this disaster in order to start the grieving process, and to start the long and painful road back to normalcy in Happy Valley.

As long as McQueary is still employed, it’s not going to happen.
