NFL Week 10 Picks: 3 Teams That Will Jump into Suck For Luck Competition

Adam SpencerNov 10, 2011

The Indianapolis Colts, at 0-9, are the obvious favorites to get Andrew Luck with the first pick of the 2012 NFL Draft

But they have a decent shot of winning this weekend at home against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

If they get momentum from that potential win, who knows how many games they could accidentally win between now and the end of the season?

If the Colts do finally start winning games, let’s take a look at three teams that could jump into the “Suck for Luck” competition.

Arizona Cardinals (2-6)

Kevin Kolb has been a huge disappointment as the Cardinals quarterback this year.

In limited action due to Kolb’s injury, John Skelton didn’t do much better.

They have a game in Philadelphia this weekend, which should ensure a 2-7 record heading into Week 11.

The only problem with the Cardinals is that they still have plenty of games left against their weak NFC West opponents.

Cleveland Browns (3-5)

The Browns, with three wins, might already be out of the “Suck for Luck” campaign.

But they look like they are going to give it their best shot the rest of the season.

Peyton Hillis has dropped from the ranks of relevant NFL players (Madden curse?), and Colt McCoy hasn’t shown any improvement from last year.

Add in a defense that has struggled at times this year, and not a lot is going right for Cleveland this year.

That means they could lose their last eight games, which might just be enough to get Andrew Luck.

Seattle Seahawks (2-6)

If there’s one team in this league that needs Andrew Luck, it’s the Seahawks. Tarvaris Jackson and Charlie Whitehurst are not going to lead this team to long-term success.

They need a quarterback in the 2012 draft more than anything.

The only problem with the Seahawks is that former USC head coach Pete Carroll would probably rather get Matt Barkley in the draft.

So the Seahawks would seemingly be happy with a top-five pick and wouldn’t necessarily need the top overall pick.

But with a game against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend, they should fall to 2-7, well within range of the top pick.
