NFL Week 10: Eagles Lead Way of Guaranteed Winners in Week 10

Gabe ZaldivarNov 11, 2011

It's going to be a great week of football. Well, not for everyone, silly, but for the Philadelphia Eagles and a couple other teams destined to deliver big time in Week 10.

Make no mistake, the Eagles need this win in a huge way. Their season is teetering on the precipice and could literally go either way.

The presumed mighty have fallen on humble times, which is counter to how they started this season. Vince Young anointed them the "Dream Team," and it seemed to be a correct assumption from the start.

The Eagles trounced the Rams in their opening game, only to drop their four subsequent games. Now a team that was expected to reach the postseason with comfort is staring up from the bottom of the NFC East.

They can hardly afford to lose anymore games. Thank goodness for the Arizona Cardinals

1. Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles have a couple of difficult matchups in the Giants and Patriots after this Sunday, so the Cardinals contest needs to be savored.

The Bears game showed the Eagles still have problems stopping the run, but Arizona has a dismal defense that should allow the Eagles to flourish in this one. This will be an easy win that will get this team some crucial confidence going into a tough stretch.

2. Detroit Lions: This is a fun one. You couldn't ask for two more evenly skilled teams. This game will be decided on defense which I give to the Lions.

The Bears offensive line will not be able to protect Jay Cutler from an unrelenting pass rush that will have him on his back for most of the game.

3. New York Jets: I struggled with which Patriots team would show up for this game. The offense that amazed us for most of the season is stagnant at the moment, giving all the momentum to the Jets in this rivalry game.

What really has me confident for the Jets is their ability to shut down a high-powered offense like they did against the Bills last week.
