Pacquiao vs Marquez: Pacquiao Will Prove He Is Favorite in Marquez Beatdown
Juan Manuel Marquez has no shot of winning. At least, that is what the odds makers are saying. Okay, I am saying it too.
According to Bodog.eu, Manny Pacquiao is going off at 1.12-to-1. Meanwhile, his opponent and boxer that has taken him to the limit twice, Marquez, is going off at 6.5-to-1.
It is plain to see where the money is getting wagered for Saturday's marquee boxing match. The fans want Pacquiao to win. It should be shocking to see such a discrepancy considering the only man to nearly pull off an upset in the last few years is Marquez.
Part three in what has been a classic trilogy already will prove to be a letdown. Here is the thing, in parts I and II, two like-minded and equally talented boxers met in the ring.
It is laughable to think the same thing is going to take place this time around. One boxer took off into a whole new echelon of boxing after their last bout in 2008. That perfect pugilist in Pacquiao.
On Saturday, the odds makers will look like geniuses as Pacquiao delivers a stirring victory over his old nemesis. By the end, we will know for sure that Pacquiao has since exceeded Marquez in all facets of boxing.
Marquez is relying on power and size to get him over the hump in the rubber match. The fact is that will never trump Pacquiao's speed, defense and footwork.
With Marquez losing a step, he believes that adding some bulk will solve the issues that plagued him before. This will not deter Pacquiao from putting Marquez on the mat once again.
This time, however, he will win a great deal more rounds than he had in the first two fights. Boxing fans are hoping for a huge bout that goes the distance on Saturday. That's not what I see.
I see a beat-down of epic proportions.
