He joins Archie Goodwin and Willie Cauley in the Wildcats' recruiting haul.
Poythress' name may sound familiar. He was involved in a possible recruiting violation involving Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski. The Blue Devils coach phoned Poythress while he was traveling to an AAU tournament this past summer.
Kentucky is now No. 2 on ESPN.com's Class of 2012 Basketball Recruiting Rankings.
It may be difficult for anyone to catch Sean Miller and the University of Arizona for the top spot in next year's recruiting rankings.
Miller has commitments from three Top Ten players (Brandon Ashley, Kaleb Tarczewski and Grant Jerrett), plus 4-star guard Gabe York.
