Ashton Kutcher Tweet: Actor Must Follow Through on Promise To Stop Tweeting

Alex KayNov 10, 2011

Ashton Kutcher should follow through with his tweeted promise to stop tweeting.

Kutcher said that because he ran his mouth about the Joe Paterno firing without even knowing the facts.

In a tweet that he deleted, Kutcher said, “How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste”.

Do I even care that Kutcher later admitted that he had absolutely no idea the circumstances surrounding Joe Paterno’s dismissal?

No.

I just want the actor to shut up.

What he tweets about something he has no involvement with shouldn’t be a controversy.

But since 8,272,642 people and counting seem to hang onto his every word and care what he says in 140 characters or less, it is.

The Dude, Where’s My Car? star has raised his profile recently by joining the cast of Two and a Half Men as the replacement for the immortal Charlie Sheen.

Kutcher was the first celebrity to break the one-million mark of Twitter followers back in April of 2009 and continually is gaining more.

Honestly, the world could use a little break from Kutcher’s Twitter feed. He doesn’t even say stuff that often, having just over 7,000 tweets since joining, but his popularity means that a lot of people notice when he does decide to type.

In a perfect world, the guy would just stay off Twitter forever.

Because right now, Kutcher has the perfect stage to perform a "grand comeback" to the platform.

Is Kutcher trying to become the Michael Jordan of Twitter by retiring and coming back over and over?

I don’t know, but I hope not.
