There have been many things said and written this week about the Penn State scandal, which has rocked the very foundation of that university cost four people—so far—their jobs. But there may not be anyone that has made a dumber comment than Wisconsin head coach Bret Bielema

Wisconsin radio host Trenni Kusnierek posted a portion of Bielema's quote on his Twitter page, and it makes you scratch your head as to what went through his mind as he was saying it.

Let's start with the fact that he is essentially saying that the recent incidents at Ohio State and Michigan are the same as what is going on at Penn State.

Nothing that any program has dealt with compares to what is going on at Penn State right now. Not Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Auburn, Miami or SMU when that program was given the death penalty are on the same level as this.

For Bielema to use the scandal to basically say that his program is awesome is wrong. No one cares what it's like to be a Badger fan right now.

Did Bielema say anything outrageous that should make us what to throw up our hands and criticize him for being an insensitive human being? No. I think he was trying to add levity to a serious situation and it came off poorly.

Bielema should have known better than to say something like that. He is the face of a major college football program, and anything that he says or does is going to be scrutinized to no end.

Being a Badgers fan right now has nothing to do with what is going on at Penn State. It's not like the allegations against Jerry Sandusky suddenly go away if you put on a red and white T-shirt instead of a blue and white T-shirt.

Bielema should have chosen his words more carefully, or better yet just not said anything. If it is possible that you are going to say something dumb about this situation, keep your mouth shut.
