Tom Bradley: Penn State Fails Once Again in Putting Interim Coach in Spotlight
With all the things that are going on at Penn State right now, the last thing the school needed to do was set up a press conference for interim head coach Tom Bradley.
And yet, here we are, with Bradley vaguely answering and avoiding most questions.
Don't you think Penn State has better things to worry about right now? Or Tom Bradley, who just took over the head coach position and has a game in two days, also has better things to worry about?
Isn't this just wasting everyone's time?
Bradley looks tired and uncomfortable about being in his current position. Most of the questions he's gotten are ones that he can't answer or, in all honesty, he doesn't know know the answer to.
The whole thing was about 30 minutes long and I believe I heard Bradley answer with "that's something I can't comment on right now" about 15 times.
Even on the football-related questions, his answers aren't giving us a ton of insight.
He's noted that the players have most of the control, stating "it's their team."
Alright, that's helpful.
Still though, there have been a few useful tidbits that have come out of this press conference.
Bradley said that based on administration decision, Joe Paterno does not get to coach but Mike McQueary does.
Many of us were wondering what the fate of McQueary would be, and now we know he will be a part of the coaching on Saturday. That's completely unacceptable.
Besides those few points, and a few nice words Bradley had to say about Joe Paterno, there was a whole lot of nothing that came from this press conference.
Bradley looked tired, uninterested and unable to answer most questions. Penn State has made a lot of bad decisions in the last few days, but they managed to make yet another one by setting up this press conference.
