Fantasy Football: 5 Emerging Sleepers You Need to Pick Up

Scott L. HutchinsonNov 10, 2011

It's Week 10, fantasy owners, and that means those pesky injuries and bye week issues are really starting to pile up.

Luckily, there are always ways to fill out your lineup with some lesser known players who can still supply your team with a nice boost when you're in a bind.

Here are five sleepers you may want to take a look at as you set your Week 10 lineup.

Roy Helu, RB, Washington Redskins

1 of 5

Fantasy owners have shied away from Redskin running backs this season due to their quality depth at the position, but after recording a ridiculous 14 catches for over 100 yards out of the backfield last week it's safe to say that rookie Roy Helu will be the 'Skins primary ballcarrier from here on out.

The Redskins are facing a tough Miami run defense this week, but Helu could still be productive in the passing game and will certainly produce in the weeks to come.

Laurent Robinson, WR, Dallas Cowboys

2 of 5

With Miles Austin nursing an injury, veteran wideout Laurent Robinson has emerged as one of Tony Romo's favorite downfield weapons.

He's only the third or fourth option in the Dallas passing attack, but in just six games Robinson has recorded 368 yards and two touchdowns.

He is a bit streaky, but if you need a wide receiver he's certainly worth a shot. Considering he's only owned in 39 percent of Yahoo! leagues, he could very well be floating around your waiver board.

Antonio Brown, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers

3 of 5

If Antonio Brown is still a free agent in your fantasy league then do yourself a favor and pick him up RIGHT NOW.

Brown is by far Big Ben's most targeted receiver in Pittsburgh, and he has been tearing it up week after week.

Opposing defenses have their hands full with the Steelers' hard-nosed ground game, and with Mike Wallace streaking down the sidelines, so Brown has been racking up serious yardage all over the field.

Jake Ballard, TE, New York Giants

4 of 5

Eli Manning has always loved his tight ends, and he seems to be pretty big on this Jake Ballard guy.

Ballard has been one of the most impressive offensive rookies in the entire league this season as he has recorded 23 receptions for nearly 400 yards and three touchdowns.

He hasn't had any gigantic games per se, but he has produced consistently and is only owned in 42 percent of Yahoo! leagues. If you need a tight end and Ballard is still floating around, you'd be smart to add him.

Jason Hill, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

5 of 5

Simply put, Jason Hill is Blaine Gabbert's go-to guy.

While the Jaguars don't like to pass the ball, they typically find themselves trailing late in games and are forced into passing situations.

Hill has scored three touchdowns over the past four weeks, and with the Jags facing Indianapolis' pourous secondary this week, he could once again find himself dancing in the end zone.

He's no sure thing, but his upside makes him a nice fill-in option.
