Manny Pacquiao: 3 Things Pac-Man Must Do Differently in Third Marquez Bout
Manny Pacquiao can’t come in with the same old plan and expect to take down Marquez. That would be the definition of insane, and with so much riding on his ability to dominate Marquez, Pacquiao will have to switch things up.
Speed
Now, this might not seem like anything different, but it’s going to have to appear different going into Pacquiao vs. Marquez III.
One of the things that most are saying about Pacquaio is that since his first two bouts with JMM, he’s gotten faster.
With Marquez being 38 years old, there is no question that Pacquiao is going to look faster.
Not only will this allow him the leverage he needs to score a knockout on an opponent that knows him better than anyone, but failure to do so will only raise doubts about what he will be able to do against Floyd "Money" Mayweather should the two step into the ring.
Aggressive
One has to wonder how motivated Marquez is to beat Pacquiao.
Simply going the distance against him would be a moral victory.
Pacquiao has to do everything in his power to try and take him out early.
In previous fights there has been a more strategic planning to his offense, but he might benefit from a little less planning.
Even if he fails to knock him down, simply dominating the fight all the way through will make a statement.
Angry
Perhaps this is a tough pill to swallow for some, but Pacquiao is a nice guy and nice guys have had trouble with JMM.
Manny should make the most of this opportunity and understand what is really at stake.
Victory, and a decisive one, means more for Pacquiao than a decision would.
He should take advantage and realize what he could lose if he fails.
It’s time for Manny to be mean.
