Joe Paterno Needs To Come out with Bold Statement in 1st Interview

Today, if given the chance to speak his mind, Joe Paterno needs to come out with a bold statement that takes the media heat off of him. 

He tried to address the media yesterday when leaving his house, but the swarm of the press was too much for the 84-year-old coach to handle. 

In fact, the only person that has been handling all of Paterno’s media requests or announcements has been his son Scott Paterno. 

He has broke the most stories about his father, well because Joe probably doesn’t know what Twitter is, or how to Tweet. 

As you can see, Scott has been Joe’s mouthpiece to how we communicate breaking news today, via Twitter. He was the one to tell everyone why yesterday's press conference was canceled, why Joe Pa did not announce his retirement yesterday, even though the New York Times reported that he did. He also chimed in where all future media requests about this scandal should go to. 

Coach Paterno will come out soon and talk to the media in a controlled environment. No, this doesn’t mean that only questions about his 8-1 Penn State team will be asked, or that it will be all “softball” questions about this situation he’s facing. 

What it means is that it will not be a wave of questions all at once bombarding the coach as he is leaving the private confines of his home or his office. 

When Paterno is given a chance to speak what is on his mind and in his heart, he will come out with a statement that will make everyone sit back and see that the Penn State program is everything to him. He will say that he did not know anything that Sandusky was doing, as he told the grand jury. 

There will be a time when Paterno has his chance to address the media about this situation. 

When that time comes, everyone will see a man that loves the place that he goes to every day. A place that has seen his children get their diplomas from. A place that has his name all over the university. You will see someone that never wanted to leave a job that he loves, but is forced to leave. 

You will hear Joe Paterno release a statement that will make everyone stop what they are doing and listen to the best coach to ever walk a sideline.
