NFL Week 10 Picks: Predicting the Week's Biggest Winners

Chris TrapassoNov 8, 2011

What constitutes a big win in the NFL

Would a team coming off two straight losses for the first time since 2009 beating a divisional opponent on the road count as one?

I'd say so.

What about a team hosting the division leader with a chance to pull ahead?

Yeah.

Here are Week 10's biggest winners...

New England Patriots over New York Jets

I was stunned when the Patriots lost two consecutive games, and I simply can't see that going to three. Bill Belichick will make the appropriate tweaks to his offensive attack as the Jets will look to employ similar pressure that New England has seen in their last three games.

Mark Sanchez was efficient against the Bills on Sunday but was erratic in the first half and will likely see more of a pass rush than Buffalo brought his way.

This game should go down to the wire, but Tom Brady leads another fourth quarter scoring drive and the Patriots get a gigantic win in New Jersey.

Atlanta Falcons over New Orleans Saints

I know the Saints are the more flashy squad, but the Falcons' balance will be the difference in this one. New Orleans has a good running back committee to go along with their high-powered passing offense, but their defense has been one of the worst units in football this season, especially on the road.

Matt Ryan isn't trying to be Aaron Rodgers anymore (I think he was forcing things a bit in the beginning of the season) and he's relying more on his talented running back Michael Turner who's a proven commodity.

The defense is improving and home field gives the Falcons the final edge in this NFC South battle.

Pittsburgh Steelers over Cincinnati Bengals

The Steelers take on the Bengals in what looked to be a cupcake game at the beginning of the season. The Bengals, to me, are the biggest surprise this season, but they haven't faced the stiffest competition.

Both teams have outstanding defenses that have been very reliable this season, but I have to give the advantage to the Steelers offense in this one.

It's really that simple.

Andy Dalton will impress you, but I'm taking Ben Roethlisberger
