Pacquiao vs. Marquez: 3 Reasons Marquez Has No Shot Against Pac-Man
The first two fights between Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao didn't tell us much.
Except maybe for the fact that these two boxers are closer than we all originally thought. Still though, there are some underlying factors that point to a big win this time around for Pac-Man.
Here's a quick look at three of those factors.
Juan Manuel Marquez is Older
OK, yes, this is a pretty obvious point and yes, Pacquiao is also older. But Marquez has likely suffered a bigger fall. Last time these two fought, Marquez was 35 years old and Pac-Man was 32.
I'm thinking the drop from 35 to 38 is worse than the drop from 32 to 35, that's all.
Since the fight, Marquez has lost to Floyd Mayweather and while he beat Juan Diaz two times, the second was by decision opposed to the TKO in their first matchup. He's beat Michael Katsidis and Likar Ramos since then, but it appears Marquez is declining, at least a little bit.
Manny Pacquiao is Determined
Besides Floyd Mayweather, the only fighter some people think Pacquiao can't take is Juan Manuel Marquez.
With the way the first two fights between the two have went, you can't really deny those thoughts. The first 24 rounds have been about as close as physically possible, with the first fight being a split decision draw and the second being a split decision in favor of Pac-Man.
This time out, Pacquiao won't want to leave any doubters. He will likely come out in a fury and look to knock down Marquez.
If Pac-Man wants to face Mayweather in one of the most hyped fights of all time, he'll have to knock out Marquez, and I bet there's a good shot he's more determined than ever to do that.
Manny Pacquiao has Faced Much Stiffer Competition Since the Last Fight
Since the second Pacquiao-Marquez fight, Pac-Man has faced guys like Oscar de la Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Joshua Clottey, Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley.
Marquez, on the other hand, has fought Juan Diaz twice, Michael Katsidis and Likar Ramos.
The stiffer competition will Pacquiao ready for this fight and ready for an easy knockout.
