Manny Pacquiao vs Marquez: 3 Ways Marquez Makes This Battle Epic

Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez are geared up for what should be an epic battle that will invigorate a dying sport. Marquez needs just three things to guarantee this is the fight of the year. 

Let me stress that this has all the makings of becoming a fight we will remember for years after. With the first two fights being that epic, I don't see how the third in a marvelous three-parter can let us down. 

Marquez is the closest we have come to a worthy opponent for the legendary Manny Pacquiao. Marquez has delivered with the drama in fights I and II, but it will take a much more clean effort if he plans to pull off a ridiculous coup. 

Marquez may be older. This fight may even be a few years too late, but do not think that this is a throw away like Shane Mosley was. Marquez wants a crowning feather for his cap.

A win would make Marquez's legacy far more brilliant. 

Here is a list of things Marquez can do to step closer to a stirring upset victory. 

1. Stay Upright: We may be talking about how flawless Marquez has been and how Pacquiao could upset the Mexican fighter had he just been able to stay on his feet against Pacquiao. 

You can't take away that Marquez has won most of the rounds according to most scorecards. If Marquez can stay on his feet he has a chance to challenge at the judge's table. 

2. Power, Power, Power: Pacquiao can hardly be hurt by most fighters. We have seen in the first two fights that Marquez can get Pacquiao a little wobbly. Marquez is already on his way to adding more weight and brawn to his frame.

Pacquiao will feel the old man's punches. 

3. Tenacity: The last bit is something that he has shown in each fight before this. Marquez never once gave up. It is that fact that had him nearly beating Pacquiao after a horrible start in their 2004 bout. 

If he has the same passion in this bout, we will see one of the best fights since their last encounter.
