NFL Power Rankings Week 10: Teetering Teams with No Chance to Rise

Alex KayNov 8, 2011

With Week 10 of the NFL just around the corner and games starting as early as Thursday this week, a playoff picture is starting to take shape and will soon be very clear.

There are a number of teams who aren’t out of the postseason race quite yet, but will soon find themselves out of contention and retaining their spot in the lower-middle portion of the power rankings.

These teams have been up and down throughout the season, but they will be staying down from this week on.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs lost a crucial game to the New Orleans Saints this week, one they should have won if they wanted to make the playoffs this year and jump up in the power rankings.

Now they have to face Houston and Green Bay in back-to-back weeks and play a bunch of other dangerous teams like Carolina, Dallas and Atlanta to close out their season.

It doesn’t look good for the Bucs during the second half of this season.

Kansas City Chiefs

This was the hottest team in the NFL, coming off four straight wins before getting absolutely cut down by the Miami Dolphins.

When you lose to an 0-7 team, you know your heater is done.

Now the Chiefs' losing streak begins and their playoff chances die. They have to play New England, Pittsburgh, Chicago, the New York Jets and Green Bay over the next five games.

That is just brutal.

Cleveland Browns

Cleveland started the season with high hopes but immediately fell to the Bengals, a team that no one thought would be good.

They have been dealing with nothing but turmoil and disarray inside their organization, especially with former starting running back, Peyton Hillis.

The Browns still have to play the Steelers twice, Cincinnati and Baltimore and have absolutely zero chance at the division or playoffs.
