Week 10 Waiver Wire: Tim Tebow and Late-Season Saviors

T.J. McaloonNov 8, 2011

Your fantasy football playoffs are probably coming up in the next four-to-five weeks. Your team is probably hurting because of injuries, or because you drafted horribly in August or September.

There are stragglers just sitting on the waiver wire waiting for you to pick them up. They can save your season from finishing out of the playoffs or missing out on winning your league’s championship.

Take a look at these players who may be available on your waiver wire. They can turn around your season, and they just may be what your team is missing.

Tim Tebow: Quarterback, Denver Broncos

Tim Tebow will not be the best passing quarterback in the NFL. But, thankfully for you, your fantasy league does not punish you for a quarterback’s inability to complete passes.

What Tebow brings to your fantasy roster is someone who can put up a combined 200-250 yards on offense, through passing and rushing, with one or two touchdowns.

Even with his horrible playing, Tebow will still net you around 15-20 points per week.

Give Tebow a roster spot on your team and put him in during a bye week, or if your original starting quarterback has a bad matchup.

Early Doucet: Wide Receiver, Arizona Cardinals

Early Doucet is not as good as his teammate Larry Fitzgerald. He is not as talented, not as popular and will not get the same coverage as Fitzgerald.

You would think all of these things would deter you from picking him up, but you would be wrong. All of these things are the reason why you should pick him up.

Doucet will not get the same coverage from opposing defenses, which leaves him wide open to get a lot of points.

Over the last four weeks, Doucet has not had huge days, just days that are good enough to push you to a victory. In those four weeks, he’s had 9, 9, 8 and 7 points.

Pick up Doucet if you need a receiver to plug a hole in your lineup.

Reggie Bush: Running Back, Miami Dolphins

Reggie Bush, should be on my fantasy football team? Wait, what?

Yes, Reggie Bush should be someone you pick up this week. He’s emerged as the starter for this Dolphins team, since Daniel Thomas has shown an inability to stay healthy or be productive as a starter.

In Bush’s last two games, he’s had breakout numbers of 11 and 20 points.

Reggie will not be your No. 1 or No. 2 running back on your team. However, he is a great person to have on your team as a flex player.

Pick up Reggie now for those games when you have a horrendous matchup with some of your other players.

Three people that will be saviors to your fantasy football team.

Just think, if you had them last week, you could have had players with 20 points (Bush), 9 points (Doucet) or 27 points (Tebow).
