50 Schools That Party Harder Than They Play College Football
Which teams in college football party harder then their actual teams? There are always a few overrated teams that are not getting the job done on the field, but there are usually a few teams who throw solid bashes off.
Climate is always taken into account as to which schools are the top notch party schools, but that does not necessarily mean other teams in cold conditions haven't fist pumped a time or two.
Florida State
1 of 50The Seminoles were once ranked in the top five, but haven't played up to their expectations this season. While they are playing much better and may even end the season in the top 25, that would not be considered a successful season.
Plus, Tallahassee has had their fair share of party animals outside Doak Campbell.
Maryland
2 of 50College Park has been a zoo when the football/basketball squads pull off gigantic upsets. It would help if they would actually win a ball game though. Plus, hearing Scott Van Pelt on Sportscenter scream, "we're all going to Bentley's" kind of takes the cake.
North Carolina State
3 of 50Raliegh has been unkind to the opposition and having watching North Carolina and NCST play through the years, it has gotten ugly before. Fans can be reckless, but they sure are great at partying. Wish I could say the same thing about their football team.
Duke
4 of 50The Dukies do not just ball it for Coach K, they can party it up a bit. Maybe that is because they are not kicking some tail on the gridiron.
Miami FL
5 of 50The fans can be obnoxious when need be and I am talking before the games kicks off. I actually say that in a positive way, but unfortunately that is the only good news since their talent has not paid off on the field.
North Carolina
6 of 50The Tar Heels in Chapel Hill know exactly how to chill the perfect way during parties, but the football team just got shutout by an average NCST team. The Heels will make a bowl team like a few of these ACC teams, but winning six or seven games is nothing to brag about.
Pittsburgh
7 of 50Who wears a suit like that and does not know how to party?
South Florida
8 of 50USF has been known to host a few shindigs before and with that weather, why wouldn't you? Since their loss to the Irish in the opener they have fallen harder on their faces then have after a long night around town.
West Virginia
9 of 50Any team that has burned their couches in celebration really are top notch party beasts. West Virginia has been a major disappointment the Big East this season since they will likely not represent the conference in the BCS.
Illinois
10 of 50The Fighting Illini have had a few BCS Bowl games in the last decade, but overall they are normally disappointing. This is your typical Illini season as they once started out 6-0, but have since lost three straight. Can they play in a New Year's Bowl? If not, these bar hoppers will could end up in Texas or Arizona for the holidays instead of Florida.
Indiana
11 of 50If those pants don't scream for attention then I am not sure what does. The Hoosiers could potentially make a bowl under Kevin Wilson in a few seasons, but the team is as bad as it gets lately.
Purdue
12 of 50Drink up! Or wait, I thought it was boiler up? Purdue travels well in bowl games and in NCAA Tournament games because of how much the fans enjoy going around partying their brains out. Only one problem, they never are successful in those low-tier games.
Wisconsin
13 of 50Teach me how to Bucky!
The Badgers "Jump Around" segment after the third quarter is always a must see on television, but it speaks volumes of how the fans are more popular than the actual football team. Plus, they once were voted the top party school in the country in 2006.
Sure, they made the Rose Bowl and are a legit contender to return once again, but until they actually win a vital game we cannot take them too serious.
Iowa
14 of 50Through the years they have played in solid bowl games, but this is a what have you done for me lately world. Their fans get up at the crack of dawn for 11 in the morning games and they certainly rank among the top for obnoxiousness.
More importantly, they have a few legit bars nearby in Iowa City and let's just say they are not empty on weekends.
Michigan
15 of 50Maybe this Michigan fan was so awkward in this video because the town is just not accustomed to winning close games, let alone vital ones?
Ann Arbor is a solid college town that has underachieved for nearly the past seven seasons and hope is that they can bounce back into a New Year's Day Bowl.
However, they just let a game go to waste against Iowa and who knows if they can knock off Ohio State or Nebraska. If not, they would end up having another disappointing season though Hoke has them in the right direction.
Michigan State
16 of 50The Spartans were smoked by Alabama in the Capital One Bowl last season, but they never played in a BCS Bowl yet. Until they actually win the conference outright or win a few crucial games, they will be known for their antics off the field.
Baylor
17 of 50This team had not won a game over a ranked opponent since 2004 before their upset over TCU. They should make another bowl game with Robert Griffin III, but good ole Waco has rocked a few parties before.
Iowa State
18 of 50The Cyclones have always been known as a huge party school, but the football team has never had much success in recent years. Knocking their rivaled Iowa Hawkeyes was quite the thrill as they are not accustomed to winning huge games like this.
Kansas
19 of 50The Jayhawk fans do not expect much from their football team, but if they do win they will party for days. Luckily, Lawrence has a basketball team that puts the program into a party atmosphere and mood during the offseason.
Missouri
20 of 50The Tigers are on their way to the SEC, which spells disaster, but at least they stack up well with their fanbases as far as partying it up.
Miami OH
21 of 50They have not been successful in football since Ben Roethlisberger left. They have made a few bowls, but their off the field parties are much more popular these days.
Ohio
22 of 50Athens, OH has been ranked the No. 1 party school in America. However, the question should be on whether or not the football team win the MAC and become relevant?
Florida
23 of 50The Gators could be on the verge of a losing it if they were to lose to South Carolina, Florida State and their bowl opponent. However, they will rank among the tops of the SEC in knowing how to throw a party in the sunshine state.
Kentucky
24 of 50Rupp Arena can get ridiculous, but it is tough when the football team does not get many stars. Lexington will never have issues with the 'Cats because they always have fun in the SEC.
Tennessee
25 of 50Derek Dooley could have this team bowling, but that is not good enough to avoid this list. The Vols once were a national powerhouse and they will soon become a relevant national program. However, the struggles have been obvious so there is nothing to do but enjoy the nice Knoxville weather.
Ole Miss
26 of 50Houston Nutt is expected be punted out the door and you knew it was coming. The team had BCS aspiration with Jevan Sneed a few years ago and they have fallen flat on their faces ever since. Forget about making a bowl game, they just need to be competitive in the SEC.
Also, let it be known that Oxford is one of the most beautiful college campuses in America and they know how to party.
Cal
27 of 50The Bears have been a bunch of disappointing teddy bears lately, but at least they now how to storm a field and throw a party every now and then.
Oregon State
28 of 50The Beavers have not produced on the field and will not play in a bowl game for a second consecutive season.
Corvallis is not an awful city by any means and you can see how hard they party when they pull off a huge victory. Luckily, they party more often when their teams win a ball game.
Washington State
29 of 50Washington State has always been known as a party school, but they have recently been known as an underachieving football program. It has been since the 2004 Holiday Bowl where the Cougars made the postseason.
Arizona
30 of 50Tuscon is sizzling in the fall and the parties are always occurring, however the same cannot be said for their football team. Mike Stoops was let go in the middle of the season because the team could not live up to any of its high expectations.
Arizona State
31 of 50Once voted the top notch party school in 2002, the Sun Devils will always be known for how they party off the field.
The Sun Devils have been ranked in the preseason Top 25 for many years, but more times than not they are unable to stay in the rankings.
Colorado
32 of 50Recently ranked number one in terms of party schools, Boulder will always be rocking. Well, at least off the field that is.
The Buffaloes have been putrid the past few seasons and this season has been just awful (1-9).
UCLA
33 of 50The Bruins fall in line with Arizona and Colorado which speaks volumes on how bad the bottom of the Pac-12 has been lately.
At least UCLA is on the verge of playing in a bowl game, but they will still be known at the moment for being a party school.
Utah
34 of 50The Utes have been disappointing to the say the least in their first year in the Pac-12. However, they could be a legit threat in the coming years, though the party atmosphere is still a notch above.
Fresno State
35 of 50The Silicon Valley is gorgeous to be around, which is not something we can say for Pat Hill's Bulldogs this season. Hopefully Fresno can get their mojo back sometime soon.
Hawaii
36 of 50The Warriors always play in their Hawaii Bowl, but since their BCS Sugar Bowl loss to Georgia as well as the loss of June Jones, this program has not been the same.
Not only is Hawaii a vacation destination for families, but it remains a solid outdoor party school with the beautiful atmosphere and weather.
Nevada
37 of 50Reno may be several hours away from Las Vegas, but that only adds to the party atmosphere for Nevada. The football is coming off its highest ranked finish in the history of the program and they may be on their way to another WAC championship, but they have not fared well in non-conference games this season against the big boys.
San Jose State
38 of 50The Spartans were once a laughing stock in college football, but have since been respectable more times than not. That does not still put their program above the party monsters in San Jose.
UNLV
39 of 50The Rebels play in Vegas which is all you need to know. The football program will be back in a season or two, but they remain irrelevant at the moment.
The kids that love to party have almost forgotten about the entire football program in itself after one drink. Hopefully coach Hauck can continue to improve his program since has had a great track record before coming to Vegas.
San Diego State
40 of 50Ah, beautiful San Diego is as good as it gets according to some. The football team made some headlines last year, but have struggled a bit this season. Unless they win a Mountain West title sometime soon they will be unable to grab the attention of the fans and students who prefer to hang 10 on the beaches and party it up.
Colorado State
41 of 50These Rams have partied before, but I wish I could say the same for their football team. They have been accustomed to getting blasted on the gridiron.
In fact, there is only team that the lowly Colorado Buffaloes have beaten this season and that my friends would be the Colorado State Rams.
New Mexico
42 of 50The Lobos are still seeking their first victory of the season and let's just say they have been abysmal the past few seasons. What else is there to do in Albuquerque by the way?
Rice
43 of 50The Rice Owls have only gone two two bowls since 1961 and it does not look like they will be seeking their third this season.
However, the Owls are in the state of Texas (Houston) and will often enjoy themselves at parties.
Florida International
44 of 50The Panthers are in Miami and I heard there are some beaches out there? The football team has been too inconsistent the past few seasons for me to consider them as legit threats or as a relevant team in college football.
Memphis
45 of 50Memphis is currently 2-7 which means they are not eligible to play in another bowl game. Meanwhile, the university has a ton of exciting bars and events in town and seemingly is always filled with opportunities to party near campus.
Idaho
46 of 50The Vandals seem to be 2-7 every November, but maybe that is because they cannot get enough support from their fans? Or maybe that is because the Kibbie Dome is filled with less fans than some bars around campus?
Tulane
47 of 50New Orleans is great to party in last time I checked, and the football is not so great. In other words, the kids do not go to see their football team lose rather they just enjoy a good time at the parties.
UTEP
48 of 50El Paso, TX is another 4-5 team that is looking to just sniff an opportunity at playing in a bowl game. So, the Miners would not have to party too hard to even beat out the football team.
Central Florida
49 of 50The Knights have been solid throughout the years especially coming off a Liberty Bowl victory over Georgia. However, they have been a disappointing bunch in Conference USA and are fighting to just become bowl eligible.
Orlando is a nice city and the campus is even better for the kids to roam around and have some fun.
Notre Dame
50 of 50The Irish are always known for their studies, but they take a break every once in a while. It is one of the best campuses/schools in the nation, but the same cannot be said for the football program at this moment.
This was expected to be the year by many "experts" where the Irish cracked the top 10 and played in a BCS Bowl. Well, with three losses already and having not been ranked since September, those dreams have been shot down for a while now.
