NFL Power Rankings: Week 10 Update on Chase for Andrew Luck

Wes ODonnellNov 7, 2011

And then there was one.

The only team left in the NFL without a win on its resume is Indianapolis. The Colts have yet to taste the flavor of victory this year, and it is not hard to see why.

The loss of Peyton Manning has truly left this team in shambles.

The Colts are the current front runner for the No. 1 draft pick, but there is plenty to talk about when it comes to Andrew Luck.

Colts (0-9)

If I had a vote for MVP, it would go to Peyton Manning. Little brother Eli has certainly done his best Peyton impression (and, in reality, would get my real vote), but no team has ever been so devastated by a single player's absence as the Colts.

Many have said that the Colts would be a three-win team without Manning, but so far, they're proving to be a no-win team.

Should they get the chance to draft Andrew Luck, it would be extremely difficult to pass up.

Peyton Manning's career is in legitimate jeopardy due to injury, and the Colts have to be ready to address this situation if it should come to that.

Dolphins (1-7)

Eventually, the Miami Dolphins were going to win a football game.

They were so close so many times this season that eventually something had to go their way. That something turned out to be a Kansas City Chiefs defense that completely imploded at home.

Kansas City might have overachieved in recent weeks, but nobody expected the hapless Dolphins to hang 31 points on them.

There was no way the Dolphins were going to go winless, but they need Andrew Luck more than any other team in the league.

It will be interesting to see what Miami does from here on out.

The win was uplifting, but it may have cost them a shot at the one player who could lead their franchise for the next 10-15 years.

Rams (1-7)

One week after their monster win over the Saints, St. Louis fell back into place with a gut-wrenching overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Had the Rams actually won the game, it would certainly be Arizona—a team that has won as many games this year with John Skelton at quarterback as it has with Kevin Kolb—in this position.

St. Louis doesn't need Andrew Luck, but it could certainly use the bounty of picks the Rams would receive in trading the rights to a potential No. 1 overall slot.

The Rams will likely get better with the return of Sam Bradford to the lineup, so look for them to move out of this spot. But, if they somehow net the No. 1 pick, it will become one of the most talked about auctions in NFL draft history.

Others

Cardinals (2-6): As stated earlier, Skelton has as many wins as Kolb.

Seattle (2-6): The Seahawks could win games, but they could completely fold down the stretch as well.

Washington (3-5): This team might not win a game the rest of the year. The Redskins just need to hope every other team in front of them starts winning.
