BCS Standings: Alabama and One-Loss Teams That Can Win National Title
After No. 3 Alabama dropped just one spot in the Week 11 rankings, it has become very clear that a one-loss team can still play its way to the BCS title game.
With strong performances and a little help, these four teams could become national champions.
No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide
I thought Alabama should drop out of the top five with their loss to LSU, but the computers didn't agree.
After losing to top ranked LSU, 9-6, in overtime, the Tide are still ranked ahead of unbeaten Stanford and Boise State.
Alabama has two easy wins coming up against Mississippi State and Georgia Southern. After that, they take on No. 20 Auburn in their regular season finale.
If the Tide win out and No. 2 Oklahoma State stumbles, they will likely get a rematch against LSU in the BCS title game.
No. 6 Oklahoma Sooners
The Sooners have rebounded well after losing to Texas Tech, winning their last two games by an average of 28.5 points per game.
Oklahoma has the nation's third best passing attack, and their 45.4 points per game is sixth in the nation.
However, they took a big hit when star wide receiver Ryan Broyles tore his ACL on Saturday.
If the Sooners can beat Oklahoma State in their season finale, they will definitely have a championship-worthy resume.
But without Broyles, I can't picture them beating LSU.
No. 7 Oregon Ducks
Like Alabama, Oregon's only loss was handed to them by LSU.
Since that season-opening defeat, the Ducks have been on an absolute rampage. They've won every game by at least 14 points.
Oregon takes on No. 4 Stanford next week. If they win, it will be hard to deny the Ducks a spot in the title game.
No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks
All of the SEC buzz surrounds Alabama and LSU, but Arkansas could sneak into the national title picture.
The 8-1 Razorbacks have already beat three ranked teams and play LSU in the last game of the regular season.
If they can somehow upset the top ranked Tigers and win the SEC, Arkansas will play for the BCS championship.
