BCS Rankings: Michigan and Teams That Should Be Embarrassed To Be Ranked

Andrew KulhaNov 6, 2011

Being a member of the Top 25 in the BCS rankings is literally an honor, and there are some teams that take that honor for granted.

It's either that, or they just don't deserve to be ranked. It's literally that simple.

Let's face it, sometimes the BCS rankings can be completely off, and teams seem to be ranked more on matchups and hype more than the actual play itself.

That being said, there are a few ranked teams whose play is speaking for itself, and it's not saying anything good.

Here are a few teams that should be downright embarrassed to be ranked.

No. 24 Michigan

The Wolverines don't deserve a spot in the Top 25 and I think even they know it. Going into Iowa and losing was a huge black mark on their season, and it essentially exposed them as the frauds they are.

Truth be told, it's not as much about the team as it is about the system. Trying to turn Denard Robinson into a legitimate college football quarterback has not been working. He missed open receivers by five yards either way at times, and overall the team just looked overmatched.

No. 25 Baylor

Baylor is holding onto the BCS by a thread, and believe it or not a 42-39 win over Missouri didn't help them that much.

It's odd to think that just a few weeks ago we were considering them to be one of the best teams in the league. After big losses to Oklahoma State and Texas A&M, there is definite reason to think otherwise.

No. 21 Georgia Tech

I lost all faith in the Yellow Jackets after they lost to Miami, so even a win over the Clemson Tigers isn't doing much for me.

This team has been far too inconsistent, and I don't see them holding onto their ranking after this weekend's matchup with Virginia Tech.

The Week 11 BCS rankings, hot off the press:

 1 LSU
 .9931
 2 Oklahoma State .9447
 3 Alabama .8836
 4 Stanford
 .8749
 5 Boise State .8473
 6 Oklahoma
 .7978
 7 Oregon
 .7708
 8 Arkansas .7452
 9 Clemson .6435
 10 Virginia Tech .5913
 11 Houston .551
 12 Penn State .484
