BCS Rankings Week 11: Alabama Should Drop out of Top 5

After their loss to LSU on Saturday, the Alabama Crimson Tide don't deserve to be in the top five of this week's BCS rankings.

That's not necessarily a knock on Alabama, but a testament to the other elite teams in college football.

There are still four undefeated teams in the nation (actually five, but Houston isn't in the discussion at this point) and they should all be ranked above the Tide.

Oklahoma State survived a shootout with No. 14 Kansas State, prevailing 52-45. The Cowboys and their insane offense have now slayed three ranked opponents—the same amount as Alabama.

The 9-0 Stanford Cardinal and Andrew Luck, the best quarterback in the nation, have been absolutely destroying teams this season.

Sure, they've only beaten two quality opponents (or one, depending on how you feel about Washington), but they have a chance to prove how good they are when they take on Oregon next week.

Boise State's in a similar position to Stanford. It is undefeated, but hasn't beaten anybody impressive. Unfortunately for the Tide, we know that Kellen Moore and Co. are legit because of their past performances.

Alabama fans just can't complain about dropping below these three undefeated teams.

However, they can complain about being leapfrogged by No. 5 Oklahoma, which I think will happen.

Despite losing to a better team, the Tide lost more recently, and that's a factor. It also doesn't help that Oklahoma has been winning by 28.5 points per game since its loss to Texas Tech.

I expect Alabama to climb a couple of spots by December, but for now, it shouldn't be ranked in the top five.
